DES MOINES, Iowa _ President Bush held narrow leads in Iowa and New Mexico while Sen. John Kerry won in Wisconsin as the final three battleground races ground near a finish Wednesday.
In races still too close to call, Bush was bidding to reverse narrow defeats he sustained four years ago in Iowa and New Mexico, triumphs that would increase his victory margin.
In Iowa, which voted Democratic in four straight presidential races, Bush had a 13,000 vote lead as a record 1.5 million Iowans went to the polls in the race for seven electoral votes.
Between 30,000 and 50,000 absentee ballots could still be counted if ...
