Article: Five new cases of West Nile reported in New Mexico.

2004 NOV 13 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- New Mexico health officials on October 18, 2004, confirmed five new cases of West Nile virus, raising the state's total to 79 in 2004.

The state Health Department said the new cases include a 62-year-old woman from Bernalillo County with meningitis. The other four, a 72-year-old man from McKinley County, an 83-year-old man from Bernalillo County and a 53-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man from San Juan County, had mild fever.

All five became ill in late August and September but weren't tested until recently, officials said.
