THE GOVERNMENT has published its terms of reference for the forthcoming review of the Renewables Obligation. This will include a fresh look at whether certain energy-from-waste technologies should now be included if they support recycling targets and help to reduce the amount of solid waste sent to landfill. This might include Refuse Derived Fuels or other energy generated from waste in an environmentally beneficial way. The review will assess the impact that ROC eligibility may have on the commercial viability of energy-from-waste projects.
