AN EXTENSIVE REVISION to local authority Best Value indicators in England will take effect from April next year following a consultation exercise this summer. Initially many of the indicators required will only apply to London, Metropolitan and County Councils and unitary authorities, with District Councils phased in later.
The indicators are intended to provide a measure of local authority performance and to give the public a more transparent view of achievement.
