Nov. 7--Tom Kirchner, president and chief executive of Kennewick-based Electronic Systems Technology Inc., feels like he's finally at the right place at the right time.
For 22 years, his company has been making industrial-strength wireless modems for uses from irrigation control systems for Mid-Columbia farms to Navy airfield lighting systems in Antarctica.
Back when he started his publicly traded company, the concept of wireless modems would have gotten blank stares from most people, he said. Now, they're part of many households and businesses.
