NEW YORK--Crystal Brands, Inc., disclosed Monday that it signed a letter of intent to sell its 50 percent stock interest in Lacoste Alligator SA to Sporloisirs SA, the Geneva, Switzerland-based company that owns the other 50 percent. Sporloisirs is a subsidiary of Paris-based Chemise Lacoste, the worldwide licensor of the Lacoste brand.
This confirms a story in Monday's DNR (July 13, Page 6).
Lacoste Alligator owns the crocodile emblem, which Crystal uses under license on its Lacoste men's activewear distributed in the U.S., Canada and parts of the Caribbean. The letter of intent that Crystal signed provides for the termination of that license, ...
