NEW York--Aileen Rowland is one of the industry's feistiest survivors, and she's loved every minute of it.
Not only did she live through the decadent Sixties, when she and her husband dropped out to the Canary Islands, she also survived Harper's Bazaar in the late Fifties, a hotbed of creativity to be sure, though not always a "bed of roses."
"They payed you nothing, and killed you," Rowland said. "But you learned everything. At Harper's Bazaar, Andy Warhol did my promotional sketches and Truman Capote wrote. You never got intimidated again."
