There has been plenty of adversity surrounding the Jacobs football program this season.

The Golden Eagles have had their share of injuries along with suspensions.

But with a playoff berth on the line, the Golden Eagles came through in a big way.

Led by 90 yards rushing and a touchdown by Chris Nitz along with a stifling defense, Jacobs defeated Crystal Lake Central 28-7 in a Fox Valley Conference game at soggy Metcalf Field in Crystal Lake Friday night.

With the win Jacobs, 4-4 in the FVC, ends the regular season with a 5-4 record. The 5 wins make the Golden Eagles playoff eligible and likely to earn their ...
