09 NOVEMBER 2004 NADI (Pacnews) --- A new emerging issue that Pacific Island Countries (PICs) have taken up on climate change under the Kyoto Protocol is emissions from 'bunker fuels.'
The Nadi meeting currently discussing the region's position on climate change to be taken to the Conference of the Parties (COP 10) meeting in Argentina has identified that bunker fuel emissions is present in many PICs.
Emissions from bunker fuels come from aviation and shipping sources.
