Turkish state pipeline operator Botas has launched tenders for the sale of imported Russian natural gas volumes under long-term contracts.
The company intends to sell Russian gas supplied under agreements that expire in 2026, 2022 and 2012 to private companies through auctions. Total gas imports under these contracts will amount to 10 Bcm. The bids should be filed by Jan. 20.
Later, Botas also plans to tender imported gas from Iran, Nigeria and Algeria. According to media reports, Ankara plans to transfer 64% of its natural gas market to the private sector through tenders. But there has been skepticism over how easy it will be for Botas to transfer gas ...
