In a unanimous vote Tuesday, Covington city commission ended nearly two decades of planning, speculation and wrangling over the fate of its 12th Street corridor, which the state is widening.
The city approved a redevelopment plan that keeps the north side of the street intact and recommends business and residential development on the south side of the street, with proportions in scale with the historic nature of the neighborhood.
