Canines have to stay away during pupil pick-up time at K.C. Heffernan Elementary School in Marcellus.
District resident Kim Harris-Boyden , of Otisco, recently brought a concern to the Marcellus school board about the number of dogs accompanying adults who come to pick up children after school.
Superintendent Timothy Barstow said Harris-Boyden was worried what would happen if a dog became agitated or excited with all the children around and jumped on or accidentally bit a child. She also was concerned about dogs getting loose.
