Nov. 12--After nearly five years of trying to build a downtown hotel, San Antonio-based Hixon Properties Inc. has finally announced the name of its 12-story structure and identified the management company.
The 265-room hotel -- built by Hixon and well-known Houston developer Hines Interests -- will be known as the Hotel Contessa. Benchmark Hospitality International, which operates resorts, conference centers and hotels, will manage the hotel.
