As a CEO and administrator for a CCRC in Chicago, many topics can keep me awake at night: the budget, personnel concerns and staffing shortages, census, risk and liability, Medicaid reimbursement--the familiar, age-old, keep-the-administrator-up-at-night stuff. Lately, though, another workplace worry has taken over my late-night thoughts: long-term care culture change. It is the one topic that can simultaneously overwhelm, frustrate, and excite me--and most definitely keep me awake.
