Call me Scrooge, but despite everything I'd heard about the sweet goofiness of "Elf," I just didn't find it very funny.
A toddler named Buddy crawls into Santa's (Ed Asner) bag at the orphanage one Christmas Eve and ends up raised at the North Pole by Papa Elf (Bob Newhart). When he grows up into the decidedly not-elf-sized Will Ferrell, Buddy has a hard time fitting in, and returns to New York to find his biological father.
