Even that small percentage of fans who are sympathetic to the plight of locked-out NHL players - with just nine percent of 1,000 fans polled recently in Canada saying the players are right - would have to admit there is real hypocrisy among the ranks of the National Hockey League Players Association. NHL players are often heard talking about their desire for a free market, and of their righteous battle for their union brothers, present and future.
But the so-called "free" market is actually one loaded in their favor. Their vision for the league allows a player to be paid whatever a team is willing to pay him - a free market - but ...
