NEW YORK -- JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM) announced that the merger of JPMorgan Chase Bank, Bank One, N.A., Chicago, Illinois, and Bank One, N.A., Columbus, Ohio became effective November 13, 2004. Immediately prior to the merger, JPMorgan Chase Bank converted its charter to a national bank. The name of the merged bank is JPMorgan Chase Bank, National Association. The bank, with assets of approximately $945 billion, will operate across both the retail and wholesale businesses.
