Nov. 13--RIPLEY, Miss. -- Telephone and Internet provider Dixie-Net Communications Inc. laid off 16 of its 38 employees last Tuesday as it changes direction from a hard-growth to a slow-growth model company.
All employees were previously based at the company's headquarters in Ripley. Dixie-Net also has a satellite office in Starkville and numerous affiliates -- mainly repair stores -- throughout the state.
