Nov. 16--PAWTUCKET, R.I. -- A city-backed plan to take control of the Pawtucket-Central Falls train station by eminent domain has been shelved while the City Council weighs a proposal by private developers to develop a shopping plaza on the site.
Two out-of-state developers, Jack Mitchell and Oscar W. Seelbinder Jr., are planning to buy the derelict train station for $1.4 million and turn it into a shopping plaza containing a pharmacy, clothing store and auto parts store.
