BOSTON -- As Congress works to complete the remaining appropriations bills this week, New England Council President James Brett is urging support for the request of northeast and midwest House lawmakers for $600 million in emergency funding for this year's Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
In addition, the Council is calling on both the House and Senate to approve legislation that would increase LIHEAP funding to $3.4 billion.
