Nov. 17--Fed up with automated teller machine fees, Austin Baskett switched to Compass Bank and hasn't looked back.
"ATM fees are absolutely ridiculous," Baskett said Tuesday after he pulled money out of a Compass ATM in downtown Denver.
Alabama-based Compass doesn't charge customers who use ATMs outside the bank's network, and it refunds the charges that other machines impose.
Nationally, the Bank of New York and Wachovia Bank have eliminated or reduced the fees they charge customers who use ATMs outside their networks in certain cases. It's a growing trend by ...
