Nov. 17--BACK IN THE 1970S, after he moved to Santa Fe from New York, you could find Bill Wright at the Hondo Gulf service station working on Volkswagens. The shop was on Old Pecos Trail, where Harry's Roadhouse is now.
Wright in 1981 opened Wright Brothers Garage on Rufina Street and repaired "all kinds of imports" there.
"VW and Subaru were the favorites," he said, "but I worked on almost everything."
