Lions and tigers and bears. Oh, my. Yes. And Munchkins, Winkies, good and bad witches and Toto. Oh, yes, also the Scarecrow, who needs a brain, the Tinman, who lacks a heart, and the Cowardly Lion, who requires a large dose of courage.
They mark the return of "The Wizard of Oz," from Central New York native L. Frank Baum, with memorable music by Harold Arlen, who was raised in Syracuse. Sparked by Dan Tursi's rousing direction, Syracuse Civic Theatre is delivering a sometimes scary, sometimes funny and always entertaining production.
