The U.S. Army helicopter pilot blinked hard and ordered a U-turn over West Los Angeles. He had to get a better look. Below him were military tanks, and they weren't government. They were private.
So the two other Army helicopters, which were accompanying him to Los Angeles to help quell the riots that sunny April day, also circled so he could eyeball the parking lot of a company called FMS. The Army was prepared for bottle-throwers and rampaging mobs, but tanks in an industrial parking lot?
After circling awhile to scan the scene, the copters moved on and the pilot probably still was wondering -- just like FMS's neighbors -- why someone is rigging tanks in the ...
