There is such a thing as 'Gulf War syndrome' and the Ministry of Defence should face up to the fact, an independent inquiry concluded yesterday. Thousands of veterans say they have suffered ill health as a result of serving in the 1991 conflict in Kuwait and Iraq.
The inquiry, headed by the former law-lord Lord Lloyd of Berwick, said it was clear the cocktail of health problems suffered by an estimated 6,000 veterans were a direct result of their service in the 1991 conflict, and concluded that the MoD should now set up a ...
