Big East commissioner Mike Tranghese got everyone's attention with his opening remarks during the league's media day last month at Madison Square Garden.

"To be blunt about it, I have no intention of talking about next year," Tranghese said.

Next year is when the league welcomes five new programs - Louisville, Cincinnati, Marquette, DePaul and South Florida - to replace Boston College, Miami and Virginia Tech.
