Bahrain is likely to become the new base for South African firms wishing to do business with the region, observers say. A delegation headed by the South African Foreign Trade Organisation, comprising more than 20 major companies, is due to arrive in Bahrain in May on the start of a business promotion tour in the Gulf. In addition, Bahrain will become the first Gulf state to receive direct flights from South Africa in October.
