2004 NOV 23 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Obstetrician/gynecologists with St. George's Healthcare, National Health Service Trust, U.K., have positive things to say about uterine artery embolization prior to surgery to remove massive uterine fibroids.
"Women with massive fibroids (extending beyond the level of the umbilicus) are conventionally offered a hysterectomy, rather than myomectomy, which is considered too technically challenging, with risks of excessive hemorrhage," noted N. Ngeh and colleagues.
