Nov. 19--The Lakewood Water District probably won't get any financial help to fluoridate its drinking water -- even though there's $180,000 in start-up money available, and district voters have said they want fluoride.
The water district gave up any claim to a part of the $1.1 million set aside for fluoridation costs when it sued the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department rather than follow a fluoride mandate, health department officials say.
