WASHINGTON (FNS) -- Columbia Sportswear Co. Portland, Ore., and two of its executives have been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of filing false invoices to import prohibited merchandise and to pay reduced import duties.
The outdoor apparel corporation faces 114 counts of conspiracy and smuggling, according to federal prosecutors in Oregon. Donald R. Santorufo of Vancouver, Wash., the company's vice president of manufacturing, was also indicted on 114 counts of conspiracy and smuggling. Sung Rae Cho of Seoul, the manager of the company's South Korean office, was indicted on 21 related counts.
