Madison County residents are likely to be the only Central New Yorkers facing property tax increases next year.
Tax rates in Onondaga, Oswego and Oneida counties are staying the same or decreasing in 2005.
The reason: those counties raised their sales tax rates.
"It was only because of the imposition of the sales tax" that the county could decrease property taxes, said Brian Adey, assistant to Oneida County Executive Joe Griffo.
