Nov. 22--O'Fallon Mayor Paul Renaud has always said the city must provide a level playing field for all establishments in the city that offer live entertainment. But Renaud also acknowledges he never thought officials would need more than eight months to lay out the field.
So when the Board of Aldermen passed the latest version of a bill Thursday regulating live entertainment in the city, Renaud directed the city clerk to place the bill on his desk first thing Friday morning. Aldermen approved the bill 7-1.
"I'm going to sign it," Renaud said. "We have to move on."
