INDIANAPOLIS - Reliable Drug Stores forged ahead with an aggressive store remodeling program in 1991, and it plans more of the same during 1992, says executive vice president and chief operating officer Chuck Conaway.
"We remodeled about 50 drug stores last year," he says. "All the former Peoples Drug Stores have been remodeled so far, and now we're moving on to the former Revco stores.',
In 1990 Reliable acquired 221 Revco D.S. outlets for $83.2 million. it resold or closed about 70 units immediately, but the net gain of 154 stores still more than doubled its size. Today, it operates 265 drug stores in seven states: Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, ...
