As the Syracuse University athletic department dives back into college football's so-called "facilities arms race," its strategy is clear:
Build first, raise money later.
Athletic director Jake Crouthamel is expected to announce today that SU will break ground this spring on a $3 million weight training room that will be added to Iocolano-Petty football complex at Manley Field House.
The new weight room, which is scheduled to open in the fall, will be used primarily by the football team, freeing the current weight room for SU's other student-athletes. SU's athletic department will dip into its ...
