The third meeting of the Steering Committee of the Partnership for Safe Motherhood and Newborn Health (PSMNH) was held in Nairobi, Kenya, organised and ably supported by the Partnership's Executive Officer, Petra ten Hoope Bender, former ICM Secretary General.
The Steering Committee is co-chaired by ICM Joyce Thompson) and the World Bank (Kama Rogo). Fifteen of the 21 partners were present to discuss the ongoing development of the Partnership work-plan, issues of monitoring and evaluation, fundraising and the evolution of the three projected task forces. The task forces' objectives include:

* Promotion of effective interventions
