R.W. Clark Co. doesn't have a big sign on its building. Bob Clark, the company's president, said it doesn't need one -- the building is its own advertisement for the historic preservation work which is the company's lifeblood.
"This structure is a three-story signpost of what we do," he said.
The vintage 1884 building at East 40th Street and Payne Avenue is an impressive signpost indeed, according to the organizations which have bestowed architectural awards on the general contracting firm.
Last year, R.W. Clark received a certificate of merit from the Cleveland Restoration Society in recognition of its restoration and adaptive use of the building.
