Nov. 25--TOKYO -- The U.S. dollar traded in the upper half of 102 yen Thursday morning in Tokyo, carrying over the downtrend overnight in New York where the currency tumbled to 102.56 yen, its lowest level in four years and eight months.

In Tokyo, the dollar hit a morning low of 102.77 yen, its lowest Tokyo level in about four years and 10 months. Its morning high was 103.05 yen.

At noon, the dollar traded at 102.85-88 yen, compared with Wednesday's 5 p.m. quotes of 102.75-85 yen in New York and 103.27-30 yen in Tokyo.
