Of the 36 teams around the state that will take a 9-1 record into the second round of playoffs this weekend, it would be hard to find one that has accomplished anywhere near a breakthrough, turnaround season like Geneva has.
From its first victory over Batavia since 1994 to its first playoff berth since 1992 to its first playoff win since 1988 to its first conference championship since 1985, there's no doubt that this will go down as one of the most memorable seasons the Vikings have ever had - win or lose tonight against defending Class 6A state champion Carmel.
