Kevin Maher is Lake Oswego's leading receiver and the Three Rivers League offensive player of the year, but he calls J.T. Coury the Lakers' top receiver.
So when Maher took a reverse and looked to pass, he found Coury for a 28-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter that lifted the seventh-ranked Lakers past No. 3 Sheldon 14-7 in the second round of the OSAA Class 4A football playoffs Friday night at Sheldon High School.
Less than three minutes after Sheldon tied the game 7-7, Maher took a handoff from quarterback Nick Lomax and found Coury in the back of the end zone with 3:16 left in the third quarter.
