Article: NEW YORK: Far West Side Rezoning.

New York City's Planning Commission last week approved Mayor Michael Bloomberg's proposal to rezone a 59-block neighborhood on the far West Side of Manhattan.

Bloomberg's redevelopment plan for the area calls for 26 million square feet of new commercial development, and the sale of $4 billion of notes and long-term bonds to finance infrastructure improvements, including the $1.8 billion extension of the No. 7 subway line.
