TOKYO, Nov 29 Asia Pulse - In the past six months, the gap has rapidly shrunk between the price that consumers are willing to pay for such digital appliances as flat-panel televisions and the actual prices, according to a nationwide consumer survey conducted by Nihon Keizai Shimbun Inc.

In addition to a decline in retail prices, a wider prevalence of such products is giving consumers a better sense of a reasonable price. But the price that consumers are willing to pay for food and services is on the decline, indicating expectations that prices will fall.
