For the nine sophomores on the College of the Canyons women's volleyball team, this was supposed to be their dream season, complete with the fairy-tale ending of qualifying for the California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics Championships in Stockton.
The Cougars featured one of the best outside hitters in the state, Cal State Fullerton-bound Breanna Trudeau, and All-Western State Conference hitters Ashley Lawler and Taryn Maxwell.
