NEW YORK -- The scarf business has always been cyclical, but Accessory Street, a neckwear firm here, doesn't want to be at the mercy of the cycle anymore.
So the firm has licensed a new brand name and moved into new areas. It launched Leslie Fay accessories for all -- hair accessories, cosmetic bags and scarves; added a potpourri and gift division, and is going after items from button covers to caps to pearl neckties.
The firm already produces Adrienne Vittadini scarves and Oscar de la Renta scarves and hair accessories, all under licensing agreements.
