Dec. 2--Discount carrier Southeast Airlines abruptly shut its doors yesterday morning, leaving hundreds of local travelers stranded and Stewart Airport in shock.
It's the airport's biggest carrier, by passenger volume. Or, it was until yesterday.
That's when Southeast declared itself grounded, effective immediately.
The news was a shock to hundreds of passengers who showed up expecting a direct flight to Florida. Instead they got confusion.
"I don't know what I'm going to do," said Nicole Imbrogna, who was set to fly to Ft. Lauderdale and bring her parents back this weekend.
