Dec. 2--The number of charter schools would increase in some of the state's poorest cities, and all Massachusetts children could attend preschool and full-day kindergarten, under two proposals introduced by key lawmakers yesterday.
The measures are among a string of high-profile education measures on the agenda on Beacon Hill for early next year. Fresh from their election victories, lawmakers say they are eager to tackle the school issues their constituents are most concerned about, mainly, how parents of all economic backgrounds can get their children into better schools.
