The FCC's Office of Engineering and Technology will host a workshop on radio frequency identification (RFID) on Thursday, Oct. 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Commission Meeting Room; TW-C305 at 445 12th Street, S.W., Washington, D.C. FCC Chairman Michael Powell and Commissioner Kathleen Abernathy will make opening remarks.
RFID systems use radio signals to identify items. Uses of RFID include electronic toll collection such as the E-Z Pass system and anti-theft tags.
