On December 9, a 70-foot red spruce from Virginia will take center stage on the west front lawn of the U. S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. as the 2004 Capitol Holiday Tree, "the people's tree." This will be Virginia's first opportunity to provide the national tree. But the towering spruce will not be the only Virginia tree adorning the nation's Capitol this holiday season.
