Dec. 4--In the midst of the busy holiday travel season, some Berks County travel bureaus and agencies on Friday were helping customers who held tickets with the defunct Southeast Airlines reconnect with other carriers.
The Largo, Fla., carrier, which provided service at Lehigh Valley International Airport, Allentown, and Philadelphia International Airport, abruptly folded its wings and went out of business Wednesday, blaming rising fuel costs for its demise and leaving passengers high and dry.
