Dhaka, Dec 6 (UNB) - Amid reports of seed shortages, the government offered assistance to private-sector farms for production of seeds to cater a growing demand for quality seeds with local produce.
Assuring the government cooperation, Agriculture Minister MK Anwar urged the private sector to expedite their seed- production operations.
He said this at a meeting with a delegation of Chinese seed growers and their local counterpart Aftab Farms Ltd. at his office here today.
The minister said public organizations like BADC are enhancing their seed production, but this is not adequate to meet the demand.
