Let's skip the prelims: I'm giving away a hedgehog.
As the holidays approach, it's my way of giving back to the community - a community that happens to include my wife, who is unhappy that I impulsively purchased a hedgehog without consulting her.
Hedgehogs are palm-sized insectivores - not rodents - related to shrews and sloths. They make fine pets when they're not curled into a spiky, defensive ball and hissing.
I bought mine last week at Animal Dreams, an exotic pet store in North Syracuse. I named her "Hillary," but if you're named the lucky winner of the Jeff Kramer Hedgehog ...
